Wyoming Educators' Benefit Trust

Mission Statement

The Wyoming Educators' Benefit Trust offers quality group benefit programs for individuals and their families in the event of death, accident, sickness or disability through school districts and other school related organizations including their retirees.  The Wyoming Educators' Benefit Trust was created by the Wyoming Education Association to be an effective collaboration among school employees, school boards, school superintendents and school business officials, and adheres to the highest standards and integrity of the industry.

Objectives

  1. Offer insurance through participating units to school district employees, Wyoming Education Association employees, Wyoming High School Activities Association employees, BOCES employees, employees of other lawful state agencies and eligible retirees of such groups.
  2. Allow each unit within the Trust to develop a tailor-made benefit package.
  3. Provide cost-effective insurance to each unit.
  4. Demonstrate unqualified commitment to the utmost integrity in all of its dealings with beneficiaries, employers, and providers of service.
  5. Achieve high levels of satisfaction among beneficiaries, employers and providers.
  6. Use contributed funds exclusively for payment of benefits and the administration of such payments.
  7. Strive for responsible expansion of the Trust.
  8. Assist school districts and other eligible entities in the planning and development of a comprehensive health plan.

  1. Create a fiduciary board of governance.
  2. Select a plan administrator.
  3. Engage a marketing and consulting firm.
  4. Engage a third-party administrator to handle claims.
  5. Protect confidentiality of our beneficiaries.
  6. Stimulate growth.
  7. Invest capital wisely.
  8. Engage an accounting firm to audit assets and liabilities.
  9. Publicize the financial stability of the Trust.
  10. Develop a WEB(T) site.
  11. Comply with all articles within the Wyoming Educators' Benefit Plan.
  12. Set premium rates for each insured unit each fiscal year.
  13. Establish, equip and staff headquarters.
  14. Provide board members and staff opportunities to become knowledgeable about health insurance.
  15. Review objectives and strategies annually, and revise as needed.
